Prayag Activity Centre
- Morning session works Monday to Friday between 9.30 to 12.30.
- Evening session works Monday to Friday between 1 to 6 p.m.
In Prayag Activity Centre, morning session children enjoy all the benefits of the principles of Montessori for e.g. Independent space for each child, focus on eye-hand co-ordination, aim to help the child to explore his/her environment without curbing his/her spirit and Most importantly treat and respect the child as an individual.
Prayag activity centre takes children only after he/she turns 2yrs as we are of the firm belief that a child less than this age does need the security of his immediate family and it is after 2 yrs then he/she will be more open to take on the third environment that is the Activity Centre. Activity centre maintains a ratio of children and the adult as 10:1 with an additional support staff to help the adult. Culture and group activities are also the areas where in the child is introduced to in the Activity Centre.
Children who enroll for Montessori at the age of 2 yrs will be kept in the Premont environment and then moved to Prayag Montessori after they turn 2 yrs 10 months as this is the right age for the child to start to take in the Montessori materials.
Prayag Activity Centre also has a facility where children who are visiting for a short period from other parts of the world can enroll for a short term. Here they will also receive help to cover the required curriculum to be completed by their own school with Traditional school setting of Tables and chairs set inside a classroom.
Prayag Activity Centre adults are NTT - Nursery certified and also we have one additional Montessori certified adult in the environment to help those children who have enrolled at the age of 2 years to transition to Prayag Montessori when they turn 2 years 10 months.
In Prayag Activity Centre, evening session starts at 1p.m. Children from our school as well as schools close by can stay with us, have their lunch and nap for a bit before the activities for evening start around 4 p.m. We have two trained adults with two support staff to cater to the needs of children as young as 2 years.
Activities include sketching, craftwork, clay work, creative English classes, Shloka class, Western and Bollywood dance, instrumental music and singing (classical).For those requiring additional guidance in school work, help will also be given with regard to that.
The Afternoon care facility is equipped with a refrigerator and a Microwave where in food and milk provided by the parents will be warmed and given to the child. Children are made to feel that it is a home away from home.
